Matt is the Chairman of the Minnesota Student Legislative Coalition (MSLC), an organization with membership from all five campuses of the University of Minnesota that advocates on behalf of the U of M student body at the campus, local, state, and national level. Matt has over three years of experience in student government, and brings expertise in legislative advocacy, higher education policy, and state government.

A proud third-generation Gopher, Matt is currently a Senior at the University of Minnesota. He splits his time between the College of Liberal Arts and the Carlson School of Management, majoring in Mathematics and Finance. After graduating in May 2014, Matt will begin his career in a management consulting role based in Minneapolis.

Matt’s numerous student government accomplishments have helped MSA reinvigorate its advocacy mission. His past work includes leading the effort to enact medical amnesty legislation in Minnesota, organizing the most successful Support the U Day to date, and leading the student charge for a tuition freeze. He has strengthened student engagement in government by offering training in legislative advocacy to a wide group of students, and has frequently led students at the Minnesota State Capitol and in Washington, DC. Feel free to reach out to Matt to discuss student government, legislative advocacy, or student concerns on campus.
